ACCA’s December 2018 SBL pass rate was 48%. An improvement on September, but the key messages from the Examiner’s Report are very similar.
Our top 5 learning points are:
So how should you prepare for the SBL exam? The technical material is your starting point, get those ACCA approved study texts and work through them. But you must have completed this learning a minimum of 8 weeks before your exam.
The final 2 months of preparation should be focused on exam technique and knowledge consolidation, not learning new theories. 4th June can’t be the first time you spend 4 hours demonstrating your knowledge using a case study; you will fail. Not because you don’t know the material, but because you can’t apply the material in the way the examiners require.
Our Exam Technique Development programme will begin in the middle of April for June 2019 SBL students, and will use 4 mock exams to give you an exam process that works for any scenario. Through webinars and marked scripts you will have the feedback you need to show the examiner exactly what you can do.
I passed :) Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the team. I still can't quite believe it but I'm so happy!
